My Latest Racing and Training Nutrition

Nutritionally superior fuel at a BETTER PRICE!

Just got an order in of nutrition! I'm hoping one day to be sponsored by these guys. I started using honey a last year in my fueling, and starting finding really results. But when I was in Afghanistan for the latter half of the year, my wife started sending me Y.S. Eco Bee Raw Organic Honey. This stuff is INCREDIBLE. It's so much richer than processed honey, and it gives you the complete sugar chains that makes Honey - the way God made it - so amazing! I put it in my water bottles and mix it into a solution.

For a short time, I used the Honey Stinger Waffles during longer rides. They provided some good solid fuel to ease hunger. But they are really pricey! So I found Shady Maples Stroopwafels. They're about half the price a piece, and nearly identical in nutritional makeup. The biggest difference is the inclusion of maple. (Which I love anyways - WIN!)

Mixing with the honey in my bottles, I also include 1/2 tbsp of Hammer Perpetuem (for sustained energy on the run), and 1/4 tbsp of Bob's Red Mill Baking Soda (for my electrolytes).

Note: For those athletes that like to use salt tablets, I recommend baking soda. You get the electrolytes you need, without the Chloride, from Baking Soda. It dissolves easily into water, and you can hardly taste it. Try it some time!
